Welcome To The Brain Games Club

Brain Games Club (2nd-3rd grade, 4th-5th grade)

Some games are not only fun but also exercise the brain.  Many parents see chess in this light!  There are many other games like Blokus for spatial reasoning, Go and Othello for logical thinking, Apples to Apples for creativity and humor, Rummikub and Qwirkle for pattern identification and Set and Wits & Wagers for critical thinking.  Many of these games were recipients of the Mensa Select Award, an annual award given to “original, challenging and well-designed” board games.

The Brain Games Club is a dedicated time for kids to have fun playing games.  Meanwhile, they are making friends and advancing their cognitive skills.  Each month, students learn a new game and they play the new game.  The last meeting of the month is tournament day. The club has a coach who facilitates the meetings and ensures a positive and supportive environment for all members.
