Fashion Design - Illustration and Portfolio Development        
Come with us on a journey through the world of fashion design.  Develop a fashion line as a true designer would.  This class enables students to understand the process necessary for the execution of a fashion design portfolio and developing their original ideas.  Students analyze a selected designer, target market and develop their own personal drawing and rendering style for an authentic fashion portfolio. This Future Fashionistas' program develops students' illustration skills and give them a 'true' look into the world of fashion design.

Piece of Cake - Cake Design
Use your imagination to design cupcakes and decorate cakes using various techniques and materials. Students have a sweet time making various creations and famliy members love the sweet treats brought home.

All about Cake Pops
Cake pops are the latest trend in small bite desserts, perfect for any type of occasion or holiday. Our teacher takes the difficulty out of this single-serving delight, teaching you how to make cake pop dough, form cake balls on sticks and show you creative dipping and decorating techniques.

3D Art and Crafty Wonders
This class takes arts and crafts to a more sophisticated level.  Students explore projects like cross-stitch kissing creatures, geometric string art, bean mosaics, paper mache cuties, and tissue paper landscapes.

Tell Stories by Photography
Students will learn about the basics of photography and how the various buttons on the camera can change a photograph. Topics covered include composition, exposure, light, aperture, shutter speed, metering. Each student will be assigned a digital point-and-shoot camera to create stories solely through pictures, either an individual picture or a series of pictures. Students will develop a story line and serve as models for each other's stories.

Journalism - Investigative Reporting of a Mystery
Students will learn how to interview to obtain information, cover a press conference and write articles while trying to solve the mystery of a dog-napping of a celebrity family.  Key journalism concepts will be covered including research, journalistic writing, editing, photography, advertising, layout and design.  The class as a whole will produce a mini-news magazine about the mystery.  Not only do students improve their writing but also collaboration and critical thinking skills.

All classes are week-long, Monday through Friday. Each day, students are in a class for 90 minutes, then take a 30-minute break and return to the same class for 90 minutes. If a student is partipating half-day, the student will take one class, either in the morning OR in the afternoon. If a student is participating full-day, the student will take one class in the morning and one class in the afternoon. Please go to "Schedules" to find when specific classes are offered by location.
